About Diatomaceous Earth
All Purpose Natural Diatomaceous Earth (DE) also known as Organic Fossil Shell Flour is harvested here in Australia. No chemicals used in production – simply harvested, sun-dried, milled and packaged. An approved Food safe DE for your personal health and wellbeing and the welfare of your precious pets and farm animals, home garden or horticulture plus a very effective natural insecticide. Does it all!
All Purpose DE is finely milled from 40 – 200 microns with a consistency similar to milk powder. If you are intending using DE for human internal use there is no precise mesh size that must be used. There is a finer mesh in the market that may suspend better in liquid but it’s a lot more expensive due to additional processing/crushing. All Purpose also dissolves very well in liquid but not as seamlessly.
The big question should be regarding purity. Blants buy from the actual mine. We have discussed purity at length with the producers, the actual mine owners, who have informed us the only difference in the two is the mesh, one being finer than the other. Other sellers sell one grade of DE for this purpose, another for another purpose so you need to buy different grades. All Purpose is intended to be suitable for all your DE purposes; pets, livestock, garden, horticulture, insects, and human use. Supplying All Purpose Diatomaceous Earth allows Blants to meet their ethos of supplying quality at an affordable price. Granted, there may be a few slightly larger particles in All Purpose but it does blend well and does offer an economical option.
